Anyway, let’s jump into the article.

What is AmazeOwl?

AmazeOwl is a product research tool made specifically for Amazon sellers. Using a dedicated web app for both Mac and PC, sellers can search for listings and products based on requirements such as price, reviews, and seller rank.  Along with their desktop application, there is also a Chrome extension available – this way, you don’t even need to leave Amazon to conduct research.

AmazeOwl Product Research Tool

As an AmazeOwl user, you have access to a product database that spans 11 marketplaces. Once you install the Chrome extension, you can easily identify products with potential and better understand your chosen niche.

The AmazeOwl database uses a 5-star system to rank products and competitors. This means you will have eyes on competitor prices and how they’re promoting their products.

Users are also updated on changes in listing titles and keywords, images, and pricing.

What is Jungle Scout?

Jungle Scout is also a web-based product research tool, but it does offer a little more bang for your buck – it’s also been around for a little longer than AmazeOwl.

These intuitive tools help you conduct niche and product research with ease, allowing you to filter your search based on sales, reviews, product size, and more.

I especially love Jungle Scouts Niche Hunter tool, it’s very different from other comparable tools but simple and straightforward to use.

Like AmazeOwl, Jungle Scout also has a convenient Chrome extension. I go into full detail on all of Jungle Scouts’ tools, in this review article.

Jungle Scout Product Research Tool

Along with their selection of product research tools, Jungle Scout also makes it easy to identify and keep track of competitor activity, which is essential to your success as an Amazon seller.

Jungle Scout really stands out, though, in its ability to help sellers achieve their goals using in-depth data points. The only other tool I’d say comes close on the data side of things is Helium 10, this is another tool I talk about quite a lot.

Jungle Scout have really put a lot of time and effort into their data collection technology and efforts.

At a glance, you can view profit projections and trends that will help you make better product and marketing decisions.

A little while back, we decided that every decision we make in our Amazon business needs to be based on data. DDD, we call it! Data-driven decisions.

AmazeOwl vs Jungle Scout – The Differences

It might seem that AmazeOwl and Jungle Scout can produce much of the same results, but there are some key differences in their offering.

  • Product Database Capabilities. Even though both Jungle Scout and AmazeOwl have a product database, I didn’t feel the AmazeOwl database was nearly as comprehensive. The filters offered by Jungle Scout make the search for profitable products much easier and far more specific.

  • Alerts Types. This is another area where these two platforms differ. Where Jungle Scout alerts you to changes in your product data (reviews and rankings), AmazeOwl currently only sends out alerts if there is a change in a specific niche – a niche of your choice. I suppose whether these alert functions are a pro or con depends on your preferences and requirements.
  • Sales Analytics Capabilities. This is a biggie among sellers. The Jungle Scout Sales Analytics tool gives sellers the option to organize better and track sales data in real-time. Along with monitoring your profits, you can also factor hidden fees, cost of goods, and operating expenses into your calculations. – something AmazeOwl doesn’t offer. If you want a sales analytics alternative you could look at Amzscout.
  • Inventory Management. Jungle Scout will calculate when you should buy new inventory – another unique feature of this platform to prevent you from running out of stock.

  • Listing Creation & Optimization. Jungle Scout was designed to be more than just a product research tool, which is why they’ve also included Listing Builder in their offering. This tool helps sellers create highly optimized listings from start to finish using in-depth keyword and competitor data.
  • Supplier Database Access. Need to get in touch with suppliers and manufacturers? Jungle Scout has a comprehensive supplier database that you can access to find a good match for your business. If you have the ASIN of the product you’re interested in, you can use it to get that supplier’s details.

Added Bonus: In the video below, I show you how to find your competitor’s suppliers using Jungle scouts supplier database.

  • Listing Promotion Capabilities. Finally, there’s Promotions, another offering that’s exclusive to Jungle Scout. Boost your product listings by creating and managing campaigns, including email campaigns and collecting customer reviews.

AmazeOwl vs Jungle Scout – The Similarities

While AmazeOwl and Jungle Scout do have some striking differences in terms of their overall offering, there are a few things you can achieve with both tools.

  • Product Hunting and Tracking. The basis of both tools is the product sourcing and tracking capabilities. Jungle Scout stands out here, though, in terms of the data it provides for the products you’re tracking in that it’s far more detailed. If you want to get more ASIN specific you might consider looking at ASINspector, they offer a different spin on things.
  • Niche Opportunities and Tracking. Both Jungle Scout and AmazeOwl help sellers find opportunities within a specific niche based on prices, sales, and reviews. Instead of just analyzing one product, sellers can also look at the potential of a particular niche they’re interested in. You will also receive alerts when there’s a major change within a niche, allowing you to act quickly.
  • Keyword Research Capabilities. Both platforms have keyword research capabilities, ensuring you know what people are searching for and which keywords to use to optimize your listings. I prefer Jungle Scout’s keyword research tool, though, as they include additional data such as Ease to Rank and Relevancy Score.

Who Should Get AmazeOwl (and Why)?

AmazeOwl is an effective product research solution, but it is better suited to sellers who are new to the Amazon platform and only need a few basic tools. It’s also best suited to sellers with a tighter budget.

An added extra that I also think new sellers will find useful is AmazeOwl’s free quiz, which provides you with a seller readiness score – this will give you an idea of just how successful you can expect to be. This score is in no way set in stone, though; it just gives you an idea of where you need to improve to succeed.

Overall, AmazeOwl can provide you with the data you need to make informed product decisions and create stronger listings.

As a new user, you can also benefit from their 10-day product training, which is included with all plans, even the free plan. Unfortunately, the free plan limits what you can do on the platform, so you may want to sign up for a paid plan before you download AmazeOwl.

Who Should Get Jungle Scout (and Why)?

Personally, Jungle Scout ticks a lot more boxes than AmazeOwl. Not only is the interface more user-friendly, but you have access to a wider range of tools. Jungle Scout is a top choice for new and seasoned sellers because it does more than help you find the right products.

I have also found Jungle Scout’s data more accurate, so I don’t mind paying more for access to this toolbox.

If you are new to Amazon and the Jungle Scout platform, you can benefit from free access to educational and training resources.

You can also sign up for a free 14-day trial, ensuring you can try out as many features as possible once you download Jungle Scout.

If you would prefer to sign up for a paid plan, you can use this exclusive Jungle Scout promo code to enjoy a discount.

AmazeOwl vs Jungle Scout: Which Tool is Better?

While both platforms can benefit sellers during the product research process, my preferred choice is Jungle Scout. I feel that if you’re serious about turning your Amazon store into a profitable business, you should invest in a tool that will see you through from start to finish.

Jungle Scout has a more comprehensive product database, better data, and a wider selection of tools. It also doesn’t hurt that their customer support is great.

If you’re not entirely sure whether you want to become a full-time Amazon seller just yet, you can always sign up for a free AmazeOwl account to get started and test out the waters.
